May 15, 2014
Volunteer registration is now open for the Annual United Way Day of Action on Saturday, June 21, 2014.

The United Way Day of Action is an opportunity for tens of thousands of individuals and groups around the world to LIVE UNITED and take action to improve the three building blocks of life in their community – education, income and health.

This year, UWTC will be coordinating volunteer projects throughout Tompkins County on three days; Thursday, June 19th through Saturday, June 21st. Projects include building a greenhouse out of recycled soda bottles for a child care center, landscaping and yard maintenance, reading to children, serving brunch for seniors by the pool, and helping with various activities at a downtown street festival. Full-day and half-day projects are available for individuals, families, and teams of up to 20 volunteers.

To register as an individual or a group visit getconnected.uwtc.org/day-of-action/. Volunteer registration is available on a first-come, first served basis so please register as soon as possible for best selection.

For more information call (607) 272-6286, or email Toni Sacco, Relationship Manager for Resource Development, at tsacco@uwtc.org.
