The Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter is the only organization in our region dedicated to the elimination of Alzheimer's disease and the support of individuals who have been diagnosed with it. The Chapter was founded in August 1982, the result of a local community seeking more informaton about Alzheimer's disease.
A local organization formed and began offering support groups, educational programs and a telephone information line soon thereafter, and in 1983 was adopted by the national Alzheimer's Association.
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
